Why Do I Need A Coach?

Why Do I Need A Coach?

Many people ask themselves, ‘Why do I need a coach?’ and think that having a coach is for a sportsperson, a CEO or a business guru. In fact, coaching is for everyone.

Having a coach is just like having a friend and a therapist and a voice of reason all at the same time but different. A coach does not give advice, they are not really invested in what has happened to you in the past and they are not going to be your best mate and tell you everything is ok – even when it is not.

A coach helps you work through the tough times

A coach will ask you the hard questions. Coaches work out with you the things that are not currently working in life and help you move toward what your goals and ideals are. By asking lots of great questions and getting you to think of the answers you will uncover many of the unconscious thoughts that drive your current behaviours.

A coach will facilitate your journey in discovering why you are not achieving your preferred outcomes and how you can change your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to create a different future.

Here are some questions that a coach might work through with you.

What kind of life do you envision for yourself?

How could your relationships with others be better?

What is your level of happiness on a scale of 1 to 10?

Do you find yourself doing things over and over because you feel obligated or just do not know a different way?

Do you often feel guilty about simple things?

What are your biggest fears?

Do you have ideas that you never follow through with actions for?

Do you have enough time to do all the things you want in your day?

Are you always feeling tired, stressed, unwell or frustrated?

Where do you want to be in a years’ time?

Do you know how to make your goals achievable?

Working with a coach

These are just some of the questions you may work through with your coach. As you can see, some of them are tricky and often need some deep thoughts and discussion around uncovering the true answers. This is where the coaching relationship will work for you.

A coach knows when to get you to be more specific, When the answers you are giving are linked to other events or other people. Your coach will keep you on track and facilitate your thought process towards getting real answers and creating real actions that will get you moving forward.

a coach will keep you on track

So you now know how useful a coach can be to you. Take another moment and dream of the outcomes you can create and the dreams that you can achieve if you have a helping hand from a coach. Once you have developed the tools and resources to change the way you think, feel and react, even under pressure you will be able to  rely on these skills for a lifetime.

Take the next step

Now the next step is to take action.

I know you have it in you to create the future you want and look forward to guiding you through the process of coaching soon.
